Our Mission

To help those suffering from substance addiction, and mental health issues access a safe and secure sober living program and other treatment services to assist with building peoples’ independence and helping them take back control of their lives. We will provide ongoing education and advocacy to assist with reducing the stigma around mental health and substance abuse. We also aim to improve the quality of life for those affected by addiction by providing ongoing support and assistance where required. 

Our Services

Live-in Sober Living Program

Gadibundhu Drug and Alcohol Live-in Service is our core business located at Lake Macquarie. This program spans for a minimum of 3 months and a maximum of 12 months. This program is a 24-7 Drug and Alcohol Safe Haven, were you will reside and learn skills to assist you on your sobriety journey. You will also develop your independent living skills so that you can re-enter life a new person.

Drug and Alcohol Intervention

Our Drug and Alcohol Intervention services, will assist you to access the 12 Step Drug and Alcohol program which provides the pillars of your drug and alcohol sobriety journey. You will also complete the following modules:

  • Addiction, Recovery, and Relapse
  • The Change Process
  • Unhealthy Shame
  • Your Anger
  • Your Intellectual Nature
  • Your Emotional Nature
  • Your Relationships
  • Your Physical Nature
  • Your Resentments
  • Other Dependencies
  • Family Systems

Connection service

For eligible clients, Gadibundhu will provide support with the linking to the following services.

  • Link to mental health professionals to assist with your drug and alcohol treatment requirements.
  • Assist you to explore and obtain housing.
  • Link you to Drug and Alcohol support groups.
  • Provide you with support to obtain furniture, bond and other living requirements.
  • Provide court recommendations and support (most have completed our Live-in Program).


More Information

Gadibundhu Home of Sober Living is primarily a sober home. While it does use registered health practitioners as a part of its program, it does not purport to be a registered health provider itself.
